Kale is one of the most nutritious vegetables you can eat, with high contents of vitamins C, A and K, iron and calcium. Kale is also helpful in maintaining a healthy digestive system and is a natural anti-inflammatory. Kale is often used in soups, stews, casseroles and pastas. Kale is a leafy green root vegetable that grows well in cooler temperatures. Steaming kale is quick and easy even if you don’t have a steamer.
Step 1
Heat saute pan on stove at medium heat with 1 cup water.
Step 2
Place bunch of kale on cutting board and slice at a diagonal into 1-inch pieces.
Step 3
Place pieces of kale into saute pan and cover. Steam for 3 minutes in high heat.
Step 4
Remove lid and stir kale. Cover and steam again for 1 minutes.
Step 5
Remove lid and check kale. Add more water and steam longer if you like soft veg.
Step 6
Remove kale from saute pan and serve.
